Boardman – There will be a funeral service at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at the Rossi Brothers and Lellio Funeral Home in Boardman for Carl W. “The Fox” LaVolpe, 81, who passed away Saturday, March 22, 2014 with his loving family by his side. Carl was born October 27, 1932 in Youngstown, the son of John and Lucia (Pezzente) LaVolpe. Carl attended Wilson High School. He courageously served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Carl was employed by Republic Steel, Wean United and was also a self-employed carpenter. He was a member of American Legion Post #0888 and was an avid Cleveland Browns fan. Carl volunteered his time and talents helping to build Tots Town at Boardman Park. Carl will always be lovingly remembered by his wife, the former Geraldine Hudak whom he married July 11, 1959; two sons, Michael (Katie) LaVolpe and Brian (Sandy) LaVolpe; daughter, Pam Lentine; six grandchildren; six sisters and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Carl was preceded in death by two sons, Carl and Jonathan LaVolpe and his sister. Friends may call on Wednesday, March 26 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Rossi Brothers & Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Avenue in Boardman.
