Obituary for Anna Jean Winebold

Anna Jean Winebold, 90

BOARDMAN – There will be funeral services at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, April 26, 2014, at the Rossi Brothers & Lellio Funeral Home, followed by a 12:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Charles Borromeo Church, with the Rev. Philip Rogers celebrating the Mass for Anna J. Winebold, 90, who passed away Tuesday evening, April 22.
Anna was born March 4, 1924, in Grampian, Pa., the daughter of Christopher and Catherine (Rowles) Cullen.
Anna worked as “Rosie the Riveter” during World War II, building airplanes in Niagara Falls. Anna was a member of Christ Our Savior Parish at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Struthers and St. Monica’s Guild at St. Columba Cathedral.
She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She always had a baby on her lap. She was a graduate of Curwensville High School.
Her husband Chester L. Winebold Sr., whom she married Feb. 17, 1945, passed away July 5, 1990.
Anna will always be loved and remembered by her seven children, Diane Lipinsky of Boardman, Deborah (George) Rogers of Poland, Chester Jr. (Rayma) Winebold of Youngstown, Denise Winebold of Boardman, Kevin (Shelley) Winebold of Boardman, Christopher (Michelle) Winebold of Struthers, and Dina (Jason) Evans of Boardman; 13 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Margaret Hamilton of Clearfield, Pa. and Alice Wagner of Jacksonville, N.C.; and a brother, Christopher Cullen Jr. of Youngstown.
Besides her husband and parents, Anna was preceded in death by her grandson, Michael Lipinsky; a sister, Mary Louise Carfley; and a brother, John G. Cullen. Friends may call on Friday, April 25, from 4 to 7p.m. at the Rossi Brothers and Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Avenue in Boardman.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Denise Bobovnyik for her compassionate care and support.
