Eleanor L. “Weegie” Giampetro, 85


Youngstown – There will be a funeral service at 9:00 am on Saturday, July 12, 2014 at the Rossi Brothers & Lellio Funeral Home in Boardman, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Youngstown with Rev. Msgr. Michael J. Cariglio celebrating for Eleanor L. “Weegie” Giampetro, 85, who passed away on Monday, July 7, 2014, surrounded by her loving family. She was born December 4, 1928 in Youngstown, the daughter of Joseph and Eleanor (Perry) Minnio. Weegie was employed by Federal Wholesale. She was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church and the Arco Women's Auxillary. Weegie loved to dance and cook and was especially known for her famous pizza. Weegie was deeply loved by her family and friends who loved her for her kindness and loving ways. Her home was always open to everyone. Weegie will always be lovingly remembered by her four children, Robert Gampietro at home, Joyce (Nick) Ballabon of Poland, Jane Planton at home, and Janice Renda of Youngstown; daughter-in-law, Marcia Giampetro of Boardman; four grandchildren, Nick, Rick, Carrie and Pamela; six great-grandchildren, Vinnie, Alex, Lauryn, Emily, Jayden and Robbie; and three sisters, Vera DeGenaro, Jean (Bill) Hull and Joan (Ernie) Gardner. Besides her parents, Weegie was preceded in death by her husband, Vincent J. Giampetro, Sr., and son Vincent Jr. Friends may call on Friday, July 11 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Rossi Brothers & Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Avenue in Boardman.
