Poland– There will be a funeral service at 9:00 am on Friday, July 18, 2014 at the Rossi Brothers & Lellio Funeral Home in Boardman, followed by a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Brendan Church in Youngstown with Rev. Kevin Peters celebrating for Geraldine “Jerry” Skidmore, 86, who passed away on Tuesday, July 15, 2014, surrounded by her loving family. She was born January 23, 1928 in Youngstown, the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Pupino) Willmitch. Jerry was a homemaker. She enjoyed cooking and baking, and was known for her homemade pizza. She loved spending time with her family, especially having picnics with them. She was a member of St. Brendan Church and the Youngstown Firebelles. Her husband, Clarence Skidmore whom she married September 2, 1948, passed away November 6, 1989. Jerry will always be lovingly remembered by her three daughters, Kathy (Michael) Nyalka of Monroeville, Pa., Geralyn (Joseph) DeNiro of Austintown, and Laura Carson of Myrtle Beach S.C.; six granddaughters, Nicole and Gina DeNiro, Jennifer (Jonathan) Junker, and Lauren, Jacquelyn and Maureen Nyakla; great-granddaughter, Taylor Lynn Junker; two sisters, Carmel Kozesky of Youngstown and Joann Willmitch of Austintown; and two brothers, James (Barbara) Willmitch and Robert Willmitch; both of Austintown; brother-in-law, William Wylie of Leesbrug, Va., and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Jerry was preceded in death by two sisters, Connie O’Nesti and Dolly Wylie; infant brother, Joseph Willmitch and brother, Nick Willmitch; sister-in-law, Florence Willmitch; two brothers- in- law, Bob Kozesky and Charles O’Nesti and nephew David Kozesky. Friends may call on Thursday, July 17 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Rossi Brothers & Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Avenue in Boardman.
