Ronald B. Jones, 49
STREETSBORO – There will be a funeral service at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 10, 2014, at the Rossi Brothers & Lellio Funeral Home in Boardman with Pastor Joseph Congemi officiating for Ronald B. Jones, 49, who passed away on Wednesday afternoon, Aug. 6.
Ronald was born Aug. 10, 1964, in Youngstown, the son of Richard “Rick” Jones and Louise “Jeannie” Jones.
Ronald was a self-employed general contractor. He earned a baseball scholarship with Crowder Junior College and obtained an Associates Degree in Business Management. Ronald played little league baseball for the Italian Bakery, and was coached by his dad and Uncle Bill Hupp. He played for the Youngstown All-Stars Little League Team that played in the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pa, in 1977. He was a member of the All-Steel Valley Team as a pitcher for the Austintown Fitch Baseball team under Coach Coppola.
He graduated from Austintown Fitch High School in 1982. He enjoyed carpentry, golf, being around his family and friends, and was always the life of the party with his quick wit and laughter. He was kind-hearted to all and always had a smile on his face. He was a member of the Austintown Christ Community Church.
Ronald will always be remembered lovingly by his father, Richard (Vicky) Jones of Canfield; his mother, Louise “Jeannie” Jones of Struthers; a daughter, McKenzie Jones of Poland; and a son, Jordan Jones of Tallahassee, Fla.; three brothers, Rick (Amy) Jones of Canton, Donny Jones of Austintown, and Brent (Pam) Holbrook of Canfield; two sisters, Dina (Paul Morales) Jones of Campbell and Kristy (Tom) Chirichella of Colorado; his aunt, Nancy (Pete) Dimitrijevich of Port St. Joe, Fla.; his uncles, Donald (Joan) Jones of Austintown and William (Sandy) Hupp of Campbell; his fiancé, Anne Weeks; and many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Ronald was preceded in death by his grandparents, Richard and Beverly Jones, and Harold Sr. and Rose Marie Hupp; and his uncle, Harold Hupp Jr.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests any monetary contributions to be made to the funeral home to assist in the expenses.
Friends may call on Sunday, Aug. 10, 2014, from 1 p.m. until the time of the services at the Rossi Brothers & Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Ave. in Boardman.
