Youngstown – There will be funeral services at 9:15am on Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2014 at the Rossi Brothers & Lellio Funeral Home in Boardman followed by a 10:00am Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Sorrows (St. Matthias Church) with Rev. Martin Celuch celebrating the Mass for John P. Kish III, 86, who passed away Saturday morning, Dec. 13, 2014. John was born August 3, 1928 in Youngstown, the son of John P. II and Ann (Hricko) Kish. He worked as a Quality Control Inspector at US Steel and retired in 1990 from the Trumbull County Health and Human Services Department. He was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Parish, the former president of the Lansingville area block watch and was a Plank Owner for the USS Manchester. He is also active in the USS Manchester Reunion Committee. He is best known for his sense of humor and quick wit. He loved to travel with his wife Helen. He enjoyed working cross word puzzles and cheated most of the time by making up his own words. John was a 1946 graduate of Chaney High School. John courageously served his country as a Seaman First Class with the US Navy upon the USS Manchester. His wife, Helen M. (Mrofchak) Kish, whom he married October 16, 1954, passed away Jan. 31, 2011. John will always be remembered lovingly by his two sons, John M. (Sally) Kish of Canfield and Mark A. Kish of Toledo; three grandchildren, Lindsay (Anthony) Velez, Christen (Anthony) Kladitis and Desiree Gabriel; two great grandchildren Isabella and Carmen; and a brother Richard (Barbara) Kish of Jackson Center, PA. Besides his wife and parents, John was preceded in death by a great grandchild, Anthony Christopher Kladitis; and a sister Louise Bieltz. Friends may call from 5 to 7 pm on Monday, Dec. 15, 2014 at the Rossi Brothers & Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Avenue in Boardman. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Vibra Specialty Hospital and the nursing staff in I.C.U. at the St. Elizabeth Hospital Boardman Campus.
