Leo J. Lorenzi, 91

BOARDMAN – There will a funeral service at 11:15 a.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2015, at the Rossi Brothers & Lellio Funeral Home in Boardman, followed by a noon Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick Church in Youngstown, with the Rev. Edward Noga celebrating, for Leo J. Lorenzi, 91, who passed away on Monday, March 16, 2015.
Leo was born May 26, 1923, in Big Soldier, Pa., the son of John and Marie (Ghizzoni) Lorenzi.
Leo courageously served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II with the Patton 3rd Army in France and Germany. He was awarded the Bronze Star for actions in the Battle of the Bulge.
Leo was a coal miner in Iselin, Pa., and also worked for Bertolini Brothers. He was a member of St. Patrick Church. Leo was an outdoorsman and loved to hunt. He was an avid Steelers and New York Yankees fan. He also enjoyed playing cards.
Leo was the life of the party. He was always kidding around and was a real jokester. He especially enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews.
Leo will be lovingly remembered by his six nieces and nephews, Nancy Lorenzi, Angela (Joe) Kunze, Ed Lorenzi, John (LaVerne) Lorenzi, Linda (Bill) Holley, and David (Sherry) Lorenzi; and many loving great-nieces and great-nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Louis and James Lorenzi; and two sisters, Angelina Mayer and Elda Lorenzi; and niece Carole Lorenzi Joseph. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, March 20, at the Rossi Brothers & Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Ave. in Boardman.
Interment will take place on Monday, March 23, 2015, at the Iselin Union Cemetery in Iselin.
