Obituary for Dora Buccino (Silvestri)

Dora Buccino (Silvestri)
Dora Buccino, 83
POLAND – There will be funeral services at 9 a.m. on Monday, April 13, 2015, at the Rossi Brothers & Lellio Funeral Home in Boardman, followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Basilica, for Dora Buccino, 83, who passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2015, with her loving family by her side.
Dora was born Sept. 24, 1931, in Ascoli, Picheno, Italy, the daughter of Vincento and Elvira (Cavucci) Silvestri. Dora came to America through Ellis Island as a youngster, along with her mother, brother Elio and sister Angie.
She was a graduate of North High School and worked as a seamstress at the Moyer Company. She also owned the Nimrod Inn along with her husband, Donato “Danny” Buccino.
She was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Basilica, where she and Donato renewed their wedding vows on their 50th anniversary in 2006. She was a devout Catholic, and enjoyed attending Saturday evening Mass at the church, as well as St. Anthony Novena. She was a member of St. Anthony’s Auxiliary.
Dora enjoyed bingo and playing slot machines, but most of all, she loved preparing Sunday dinners with her husband for the family. She was especially known for her breaded shrimp and her pizzelles.
Her husband, Donato, whom she married on Oct. 6, 1956, passed away June 20, 2009.
Dora will always be remembered lovingly by her daughter, Roseann (Brad) Habbe of Poland; son Dr. Patsy (Irene) Buccino of Poland; two grandchildren, Christina Habbe of Poland and Danny Buccino of California, and his mother, Charlene Carabbia of Poland; sister Angie Malkovits of Youngstown; sister-in-law Pat Silvestri of Youngstown; beloved pet, Harley; and many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
Besides her parents and husband, Dora was preceded in death by her brother, Elio Silvestri.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, April 12, at the Rossi Brothers & Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Ave. in Boardman.
The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Daniel Raymond and the entire staff at the Cleveland Clinic, and Dr. Robert Spratt and Brett Galloway for the kind and compassionate care shown to Dora.
