Youngstown – There will be funeral services at 9 a.m. on Friday, June 12, 2015 at the Rossi Brothers and Lellio Funeral Home in Boardman, followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Brendan Church in Youngstown with Rev. William Loveless celebrating for Patrick D. Borton, 84, who passed away Tuesday, June 9, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. Patrick was born October 31, 1930, in Youngstown, the son of Dominic and Anna (Gabrik) Borton. Patrick was a graduate of Chaney High School and courageously served his country in the U.S. Navy as a radio operator aboard the U.S.S. Wisconsin. He was a crane operator at Youngstown Sheet and Tube and retired from Ohio Bell as an installation and repair supervisor after 36 years of service. Patrick was a member of St. Brendan Church and the AFL/CIO. He was a devoted husband and father and an inspiration to his children and grandchildren. He always saw the good in everyone. He enjoyed gardening, especially working in his meticulous yard. Patrick will always be remembered lovingly by his wife, the former Eleanor M. Terpak whom he married September 10, 1955; two sons, James (Joanne) Borton of Painesville Township, and Thomas Borton of Mineral Ridge; five grandchildren, Alexandra “Lexie” and Krista Borton, Thomas and Anthony Distefano and Dana (Michael) Forte; three great-grandchildren, Michael Forte Jr., Grace Distefano, and Mason Forte; and sister, Rosemary Lapp of Las Vegas. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Emma Duncan, Jennie Mortalaro, Josephine Inchak and Angie Byers; two brothers, Paul and Phillip Borton and brother-in-law, Andrew Lapp. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 11 at the Rossi Brothers and Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Avenue in Boardman. Interment will take place at Calvary Cemetery where full military honors for Patrick’s dedicated service to our country during the Korean War will be further recognized by the great men of V.F.W.
