Youngstown– There will be a funeral service at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at the Rossi Brothers and Lellio Funeral Home in Boardman followed by a 12:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Christine Church in Youngstown for Carmella T. Bucci, 95, who passed away Saturday, August 22, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. Carmella was born October 17, 1919 in Youngstown, the daughter of Raphael and Micheline Donofrio. Carmella was a graduate of The Rayen School. She worked as a cook in the cafeteria in the Austintown School District and also worked with her husband at Bucci’s Supermarket in Smokey Hollow. Carmella was a member of St. Christine Church, The Bagnolese Club and the Arco Club. She loved spending time with her beloved family, especially attending her grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s events, never missing a game. She enjoyed crocheting, making blankets for each one her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Carmella’s home and heart were always open to her family, friends and neighbors. She loved preparing her Italian specialties, especially her pizza and wedding soup and enjoyed sharing them with everyone. She enjoyed watching the Cleveland Indians, playing bingo, and all the social activities at the Inn at Christine Valley. Her husband, William Bucci whom she married in January 1940, passed away on April 13, 1990. Carmella will always be lovingly remembered by her three children, Donna J. (Milan) Zordich of Youngstown, William M. (Georgia) Bucci of Naples, Fl., and Renee Halfhill of Canfield; twelve grandchildren, and nineteen great-grandchildren. Besides her parents and husband, Carmella was preceded in death by three brothers, Albert, Anthony and Vito Donofrio; and three sisters, Rosie Lazazzera, Fedelia Trotto and Esther Pastucci. Friends may call on Monday, August 24 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Rossi Brothers and Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Avenue in Boardman. The family would like to extend a sincere appreciation to the management and staff at the Inn at Christine Valley for the impeccable care and love shown to Carmella.
