Francesco Furano, 81

Boardman – There will be funeral services at noon on Friday, Oct. 30, 2015 at the Rossi Brothers and Lellio Funeral Home, followed by a 1:00 pm Mass of Christian Burial at St. Charles Borromeo Church, both in Boardman, with Rev. Philip Rogers celebrating the mass for Francesco Furano, 81, who passed away Monday evening, Oct. 26. Frank was born July 14, 1934 in Calabria, Savuto di Cleto, Italy, the son of Antonio and Carmela (Russo) Furano and came to America in 1954. He was a baker at Schwebel’s Bakery for 36 years, retiring in 1997. He was a member of St. Charles Church and BCTGM Local No. 19. He enjoyed gardening, cooking, and shopping at Rulli Bros. He loved spending his time with his family, especially his granddaughters. Frank will always be remembered lovingly by his wife, Mary Jane (Centofanti) Furano, whom he married Aug. 22, 1987; five children, Frank (Louise) Furano of Pa, Carmela Schuster of Boardman, Carl (Sandy) Furano of Boardman, Mark (Lori) Lesnansky of Texas, and Kathleen Porter of Boardman; seven granddaughters, Rachael, Tara and Abby Schuster, Kennedy Furano, Madison and McKenzie Lesnansky, and Josie Porter; a brother Osvaldo (Antoinette) Furano of Poland; a sister Mary (Vince) Pizzoferrato of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; a sister-in-law Doria Furano of Poland; and many loving nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Fortunato Furano; and an infant brother and sister. Friends may call from 5 to 7 pm on Thursday, Oct. 29, 2015 at Rossi Brothers and Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Avenue in Boardman.
