William A. "Bill" Torisk
William A. “Bill” Torisk, 77

Poland – There will be a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, Jan. 23, 2016 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Basilica with the Very Rev. Msgr. Michael J. Cariglio celebrating the Mass for William A. “Bill” Torisk who passed away peacefully Sunday afternoon, Jan. 17 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Bill was born May 25, 1938 in Youngstown, the son of Steve and Mary (DeLorenzo) Torisk. Bill retired as a Battalion Chief in 1993 from the Youngstown Fire Department and also served as Captain at Station Numbers 8 and 9. He was a faithful member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Basilica, I.A.F.F., and Y.P.F.F. Local 312. He enjoyed building model airplanes, watching college and professional football, and was a history buff. He enjoyed his family and friends especially during the holidays but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his beloved granddaughters Regan and Morgan who were his love, his life, and his laughter. Bill faithfully served his country with the US Navy during the Vietnam Era. Bill will be always remembered lovingly by his wife, Judi (Baxter) whom he married Dec. 14, 1970; his two sons, William (Kerry) Tedesco of New Middletown and Stephen (Michelle) Torisk of Boardman; his beloved granddaughters, Regan and Morgan Tedesco; a brother-in-law Robert Diana of Youngstown; and numerous loving nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his two sisters, Rose Marie Torisk Donnadio and Wilma Jean Diana; and a brother Steve Daniel Torisk. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 22, 2016 at the Rossi Brothers and Funeral Home, 4442 South Avenue in Boardman. Everyone is asked to meet at the church Saturday morning for the 10:00 a.m. Mass. The family respectfully requests no floral contributions.
