Obituary for Charles James "Jim" Goodall

Charles “Jim” James Goodall, 89

YOUNGSTOWN – Charles “Jim” James Goodall, 89, passed away on Wednesday, April 20, 2016, surrounded by his loving family.
Jim was born Feb. 15, 1927, in Masury, the son of Charles and Maude (Kildew) Goodall.
He was a 1945 graduate of South High School and courageously served his country as a radioman in the U.S. Navy from 1945 to 1946. He then went on to earn his Accounting degree from Mount Union College. Jim worked as an accountant for Simonton-Jones and retired at 80 years of age from B.J. Alan as a payroll clerk. He was a devoted family man who enjoyed horses, working on his farm, and spending time with his daughters, Lorrie and Mara Lee. He was of the Methodist faith.
Jim will always be loving remembered by his wife, the former Mary Olenick, whom he married on Oct. 8, 1955; daughter Lorrie Durkin of Youngstown; son-in-law Jim Koontz of Youngstown; two grandsons, Michael “Josh” (Margaret) DeNiro of Youngstown, and Matthew Durkin of Youngstown; granddaughter Terra Koontz of Canfield; and two great-grandsons, Dominic J. and Carmen R. DeNiro.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Mara Lee, and three brothers.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, April 25, 2016, followed by a prayer service at 7 p.m. at the Rossi Brothers & Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Ave. in Boardman. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jim’s name to Angels for Animals or Animal Charity.
The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to St. Elizabeth Health Center and Hospice House for the kind and compassionate care shown to Jim.
