There will be a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at St. Dominic Church, 77 Lucius Avenue in Youngstown for Chester W. Hunter Sr., who passed away Saturday, April 23, 2016. Chester was born August 4, 1923 in Youngstown, the son of William and Susan (Antonucci) Hunter. Chester courageously served his country as an Airborne Paratrooper with the 101st Airborne Division of the U.S. Army from 1944 to 1945. He worked at General Fireproofing as an assembler and then for 30 years at the Mahoning County Engineers Office as a landscape superintendent. He was a member of St. Dominic Church and the Charles Marino I.T.A.M Post #3. Chester enjoyed dancing and golfing. He was a caddy from a very young age and was involved in various golf leagues, both church and private. Chester will always be remembered lovingly by his wife and love of his life, the former Agnes Marie Benny, whom he married 68 years ago; son, Chester Jr., of Boardman; two daughters, Cindy (Eli) Naffah of Crescent City, CA., and Cathie (Greg) Sikora of Roulette, PA.; granddaughter, Shauna Naffah; and his beloved dog, Rusty. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother; and three sisters. The Hunter Family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to Chester's caregivers for the kind and compassionate care shown to him. There are no calling hours.
