Obituary for Helen Koval Saulino

Helen Koval Saulino, 84, passed away on Mother's Day, May 8, 2016. She was born May 9, 1931, in Youngstown, the daughter of Dorimont and Mary (Obrach) Koval. Helen married Raymond Saulino, Sr. on July 14, 1956, and shared almost 57 wonderful years prior to his passing. She was a homemaker and devoted Catholic. Helen was a girl scout leader. Her wit and humor were unmatched, her compassion very deep, and her love for her family and her God extremely strong. She is survived by her four children, Michael (fiancé Katrina) of Terrytown, LA., Raymond, Jr. (Janet) of Sissonville, WV., Deborah (David) Roberts of Harvey, LA., and Cynthia (Roland) Pitre of Slidell, LA; eight grandchildren, Christina, Shelly, Margaret, Paris, Danielle, August, Raymond III, and Tamara; and thirteen great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond; four siblings, Olga Demetruk, Mary Violente, Walter and Alexander Koval; and great-grandchild, Ryan Roberts. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 13 at St. Christine Church, 3165 S. Schenley Avenue in Youngstown. Friends may call at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass. The family would like to offer a special thank you to the staff at Bellaire at Devonshire for the wonderful care of their mother.
