There will be a funeral service at 9:15 a.m on Saturday, July 9 at the Rossi Brothers and Lellio Funeral Home in Boardman followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Charles Church in Boardman with the Rev. Gerald DeLucia celebrating the Mass for Anne "Annabelle" F. Barrett, 92, who passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 3, 2016, surrounded by her loving family. She was born August 26, 1923, in Youngstown, the daughter of Angelo and Mary (Marinelli) Barrett (Baratta). Anne grew up in Fosterville in the first home her father built at 509 St. Louis Avenue. She graduated from South High School and worked at various jobs including, General Electric in Youngstown, Lawson's on Oak Street, Newport Delicatessen, Loblaws, and Brentwood Originals. Anne was baptized at Our Lady of Mount Carmel and attended St. Charles Church. She enjoyed going dancing at Idora Park Ballroom and had a love of all music, especially Italian. She also enjoyed attending live shows of Al Martino, Tony Bennett, Frank Sinatra with Steve and Edie and loved the Radio City Rockettes. She was a big fan of George Clooney and had the pleasure of meeting him in the early 90's. Ann always enjoyed her homes built by her father on St. Louis and Glenwood Avenues. Although Anne didn't have children of her own, she took great pride in helping her sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Jimmy DeFrank raise their nine children. She leaves to cherish her memory, The DeFrank Children, Godson, Jimmy DeFrank Jr., Michelina (Robert) Woolf, Denise, Anthony, her caretaker, and with whom she made her home, Gina, Angelo, Mary Lynne (Mark) Bellitto, Mary Helen and Patrick; a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews; great-great nieces and nephews; an her beloved dog, Missy. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by four brothers, Patsy, Andrew, Edward and Robert; and two sisters, Lucy and Helen. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, July 8 at the Rossi Brothers and Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Avenue in Boardman.
