YOUNGSTOWN – Silvio P. D’Angelo, 90, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2016, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born April 3, 1926, in Youngstown, the son of Guerino and Alice (Pace) D’Angelo.
Silvio was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and courageously served his country in the U.S. Navy. He retired as a driver from C & K Beverage Company after 35 years of service. Silvio was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Basilica and the Teamsters No. 377.
He will always be remembered lovingly by his wife, the former Catherine Alexander, whom he married Feb. 26, 1949; daughter Patricia Nuzzie of Houston; son Gerald P. D’Angelo of Youngstown; five grandchildren, Lewis (Janet) Nuzzie, Alicia Nuzzie (Randy Zamora), Gerald (Gina) D’Angelo, Christopher D’Angelo and Nicole D’Angelo; four great-grandchildren, Lorenzo Nuzzie, Kale Allen, Evelyn Zamora and Christopher D’Angelo; sister Janet Taormina of Youngstown; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Sam.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, August 9, 2016, at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Basilica in Youngstown, with the Very Rev. Michael J. Cariglio Jr. celebrating the life of Silvio.
In lieu of flowers, monetary contributions may be made to the family to be distributed amongst Silvio’s choice of charities.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of the Rossi Brothers & Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Ave. in Boardman.
