Private services were held for William R. Nye., 92, who passed away peacefully Tuesday afternoon, August 9, 2016, surrounded by his loving family. William was born August 22, 1923 in Erie, the son of Dale and Margaret (Brown) Nye. He courageously served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. He then went on to be a self-employed truck driver until his retirement. His wife, the former Ardieth Weimert whom he married December 12, 1945, passed away November 23, 2010. He was a member of St. Michael Church. William will be always remembered lovingly by his three children, Richard (Jean) Nye of Canfield, Gary (Wanda) Nye of FL, and Donna (Gary) Tringhese of Boardman; eight grandchildren, Karri (Mark) Verratti, Stacy (Bruce) Tessena, David (Erin) Nye, Daniel (Kristen) Nye, Kevin (Christina) Nye, Sandra Nye, Julie (Ramon) Alarcon, and Terry Tringhese; and seventeen great-grandchildren. Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Aaron Tringhese; brother, John Nye; and sisters, Mary Selner, and Eileen McCarragher. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations be made to the Hospice House, 9803 Sharrott Road, Poland, OH. 44514. Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of the Rossi Brothers and Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Avenue in Boardman.
