Condolence: Friday evening we attended a funeral mass for father Patrick Ferraro. Wow, what a beautiful tribute for such a wonderful priest. Although we are not members of Saint Joan of Arc, we discovered This Parish while traveling from Youngstown to Hudson. We got such a warm welcome the moment we first entered the church. Father Ferraro and the parishioners were so friendly and kind that we decided to have this be our parish away from home, while visiting my niece who lives in Hudson Ohio. For the past five years we have been going to midnight mass on Christmas Eve at Saint Joan of Arc. Not only was the church so beautifully decorated but the choir as always was phenomenal. Christmas Eve Mass at St. Joan of Arc always brought peace and comfort to us during such a hectic time of year. A few years ago at midnight mass Father Ferraro stepped up to the pulpit and with his deep powerful voice sang out "do you see what I see", he then raised his arm for all of us to sing back as everyone sang "do you see what I see". He went on and sang "do you hear what I hear" and "Do you know what I know" again raising his arm for all of us to repeat. He went on, do you see the beauty of creation that surrounds us. Do you see the gift of seasons which remind us that life is ongoing and ever new. He continued, do you hear the sound of weeping parents as they lay their children to eternal rest. He said,"do you know that God so loved the world that he sent his only son to be our Savior. " He went on to say that " this Jesus, who we proclaim Born this very night has the power to lift us up and wipe away every tear from our faces. What a powerful sermon as all of Father's sermons made you reflect on your life and make you realize that God is always with us, we are not alone. In the words of Fathers sermon-I SEE the love and devotion that everyone has for Father, as the tears were streaming down the faces of the children, the women and the men as they came to pay their final respect to Father Pat. I HEAR the beautiful tributes of this honorable Holy Man. I KNOW that Father is going to be deeply missed by his family and his Parishioners. And I know that we found a gem when we happened upon this church and Father Ferraro. Thanks for the Memories Father Ferraro.

Condolence: Our family have been members of St. Joan of Arc Church for over 50 years, and were blessed to have Father Pat as our most recent pastor. His bright smile, very caring attitude, and joy in life itself just shined in everyone of his so meaningful sermons. A true inspiration not only to our parish, but the entire Streetsboro Community. You will be missed, but never forgotten. Our prayers are with your family. Thank you for sharing God's word, and bringing out the best in everyone.

Condolence: My family has been members of St Joan of Arc since mass was held in high school cafe. Many wonderful priests have come to serve us, Fr Pat was a special man. Strong convictions and pride in our community. Never will forget generations of faith session when he spoke of "free will" and played RUSH song of same name to discuss the meaning. He had an amazing way to connect to the parish. We will miss him on Saturday and Sunday mass and at the rockets football games. He was our Shepard he will be missed. My god bless you and keep you.

Condolence: My deepest sympathies to Fr. Pat's family. He was truly a gem. The St. Joan of Arc community was so very blessed to have such a wonderful teacher. In all my 43 years I have never encountered a priest like Fr. Ferraro. He was the most inspirational person I've ever met. My family looked forward to Mass and his homilies. He once said "do not fear the future because God is already there". I'm am feeling uncertain in how St. Joan of Arc will come out of this loss, but I will not fear the future because I know God is there.

Condolence: I recall the first time I visited St. Joan of Arc and Father's homily. It was about the people God chooses to be His messengers. Father's powerful message contained a list of odd, flawed, Biblical notables, who God loved despite their limitations and changed the world through their faith. Having been born and raised Catholic this was the most incredible homily I had ever heard. I knew I had found my spiritual home at St. Joan of Arc. Then Father surprised me further as my daughters and I left the church. My shy teen attempted to slip away unnoticed by the priest. Father noticed immediately and extended what seemed like a very long arm and a hand of friendship to greet and ask her name. There was no doubt, I was in the presence of a very loving, spiritual man-the finest Priest I have known. Thank you Father for your gifts and for your message of faith, love and mercy. God has called His incredible servant home.

Condolence: This is such a loss for all of us and also for the church. His wisdom, his compassion and his gift of delivery are so sorely needed. A fantastic person and priest. Served with him on the Liturgical Commission and heard him speak at various workshops and events. I feel very privileged to have known him. I thank God for that privilege and the gift of Pat Ferraro. So sorry we had him for such a short time. Thank you, Pat, for being the person and priest you have been and always will be. Sandy Bailey

Condolence: Our deepest condolences to your family. Father Pat was a blessing to St Joan of Arc parish. He had a way of making everyone feel as though they were the most important member of our faith family, and the reason my husband became a Cahtolic. We are both feeling like lost sheep without a shepard, and love and miss him so very much. He will always be remembered for the impact he had on my family as are better people because of him.

Condolence: Being raised Catholic, I have encountered many priests in my 32 years of practicing the faith. Father Ferraro was by far one of my favorites. His booming voice (singing and speaking), his heart felt homilies and obvious love of and reverence for the liturgy are a few of the many reasons I joined Saint Joan of Arc. I looked forward to attending Mass each weekend and loved how my presence or absence was always acknowledged by Father Pat. He was a wonderful man, gone much too soon. I know that he must have a larger role that needed filled in Heaven immediately and I look forward to continuing to share his legacy with my fellow parishioners at St. Joan of Arc. Thank you for your humble service Father Pat and my deepest condolences to your family and friends.

Condolence: Father Pat was such an inspiration to our entire family. Our 9 year old son Joseph, loved and adored him as a friend. He attended Saturday Mass nearly every single week just to see him. He baptized both of my sons, confirmed my oldest son, and myself. He is the reason I came back to the Catholic Church. His masses were always wonderful, with his beautiful voice as he sang. He always gave the church a warm feeling and everyone that came in felt as though they were family. Father Pat will always live in my heart and be deeply missed by all of us. RIP Father.

Condolence: Father Ferraro was a Mentor to me. Since I just became Catholic at St. Joan of Arc 5 years ago he was instrumental in my growth as a Catholic and a person. He was a Saint sent from Heaven and taken back again too soon. Father taught all of us about Mercy, Spirituality and love. He will have a special place in my heart and will be with me in spirit forever.

Condolence: Pat was a friend, confidant and Sigma Chi fraternity brother at YSU. My memories of him were as a smart, caring and kind man who would have a positive impact on the many people he touched. I remember watching fireworks on the 4th in Lowellville with him and his deep laugh as we told stories. His strong impact on the community will shine beyond his passing far too soon. All honor to his name.
