Obituary for Arch E. Hasler

Arch E.  Hasler
There will be a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday November 19, 2016 at St. Charles Borromeo Church in Boardman with Rev. Philip Rogers celebrating the life of Arch E. Hasler, who passed away peacefully Thursday, November 17, 2016 with his loving family by his side. Arch was born June 29, 1927 in Springfield, Missouri, the son of Arch and Henrietta (Ziegelhoffer) Hasler. He courageously served his country in the U.S. Navy and then went on to become a design draftsman for Youngstown Sheet and Tube. He was a member of St. Charles Church. Arch enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, fishing, gardening, model trains, working on model airplanes and woodworking. He loved racing boats and was an avid Cardinal Mooney Supporter. He looked forward to the annual bus trips to the Notre Dame and Navy Football games. Arch will always be loved and his memories cherished by his seven children, Linda (Jim) Kagarise of Canfield, Diane (Matt) Schlatter of Salem, Elizabeth “Liz” (Vic) Vlad of Boardman, Karen (Tom) Cartwright of Boardman, Melissa “Missy” (Jim) Frank of Boardman, Arch “Bud” (Jodi) Hasler of Minnesota, and Christopher P. (Laurie) Hasler of California; eighteen grandchildren, Jimmy (Amy) Kagarise, Jennifer (Dan) Skop, Sarah (Ryan) Kulik, Adam (Alisha) Kagarise, Samantha (Dustin) Williams, Matthew Schlatter, Elizabeth Melania (fiancé Bryan) Vlad, Nicole Vlad, Jessica (JD) Beck, Kristen (Todd) Orr, Andrew (fiancée Lauren) Frank, Emily (Brandon) Rader, Erin (Aref) Jadallah, Kyli Penner, Nick and Tegan Hasler, and Mitchell and Nathan Hasler; eight great grandchildren; many loving nieces and nephews; and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Dorothy and George Kiraly. Besides his parents, Arch was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth A. “Betty” Hasler, who passed away September 2, 2012; a grandson, Joseph Kagarise; two sisters, Lucille Walker, and Mary Tapie; brother, Ed Hasler; and several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, November 18 at the Rossi Brothers and Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Avenue in Boardman and again from 9 to 9:45 a.m. at St. Charles Church on Saturday before the Mass. The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to Hampton Woods and Hospice House for the kind and compassionate care shown to Arch.
