Obituary for James J. Vivo

James J.  Vivo
NORTH LIMA - There will be a funeral service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 11, 2017, at the Rossi Brothers & Lellio Funeral Home in Boardman for James J. Vivo, 81, who passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2017, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born Sept. 13, 1935, in Youngstown, the son of Louis and Rose (Nazarini) Vivo.
He attended East High School. James served his country in the U.S. Army Band stationed in Hawaii.
He taught at Strouss Music Center and then became owner/operator of Jim Vivo’s Drum Shop where he was a drum teacher. James had a love for music. He played with Mike Roncone and Joe Fedorchak Bands and also played on Ted Macks Amateur Hour in New York Radio City Music Hall. He taught solo and ensemble at Boardman Schools.
He also enjoyed cooking, gardening and bible study.
He will always be remembered lovingly by his four children, Michelle (Bill) List of Austintown, David Vivo of Las Vegas, James (Tracy) Vivo of Poland, and Michael Vivo of Austintown; 11 grandchildren, Krista and Brian Ladner, Hannah and Christopher Vivo, James, Jenna, Macy and Emmy Vivo, and Alessandra, Hazel, and Violet Vivo; brother Louis Vivo Jr.; and two sisters, Marie D’Eramo and Rita (Aurelio) Martinez.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by sister Phyllis Warino.
Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 11, prior to the service at the Rossi Brothers & Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Ave. in Boardman.
In lieu of flowers the family respectfully requests contributions be made to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St., Boardman, OH 44512.
