Obituary for Mary Rich

Youngstown—Mary Rich, 87, passed away at her home on Friday, Sept. 14, 2018. She was born Maria Domenica DiCioccio in Youngstown, the daughter of Gianfelice and Agata (Pizzoferrato) DiCioccio. She was a 1949 graduate of East High School. Mary worked for the Mahoning County Recorder’s Office and sold Patricia Gale Cosmetics for many years. She was also a Democratic Precinct Committee Woman. Mary was beautiful inside and out. Her beauty resulted in her winning a beauty contest in the late 1940’s, but it was her modesty that made her even more beautiful. Our Mom was always smiling. She was a friend to strangers, the kindest person you would ever have the privilege of knowing. As a mom, grandma, sister and an aunt, she was the best advice giver, always on your side, always positive, selfless, fun, young at heart. Your best friend. Mary’s entire life was her family. All of us will forever miss her “East Side West Side Shuffle”, her happy spirit and her advice. Mary will always be remembered lovingly by her husband, James A. Rich, whom she married June 27, 1953, together, their love and passion for each other and their children was endless; five children, Deborah Lebio, and her children, Jade (Scott) Turner, Chase Lebio, and Gina Farmintino; Linda Rich; Janice (Archie) DiRusso, and their children, Sophia (Chris) Valkier, and Carlina DiRusso, James Jr. (Leslie) Rich, and their children, Alyssa and Lexi Rich, and Jeanne (Chris) Woltman, and their daughter, Arden Woltman; sister, Lila (DiCioccio) Napolitan; and many loving nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by brother, Roberto DiCioccio; and two sisters, Sylvia Glass, and Lucia DePerro. Family and friends may call from noon until 1 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 20, 2018, followed by a 1 p.m. memorial service at the Rossi Brothers and Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Ave. in Boardman. The family respectfully requests donations be made in Mary’s name to the American Heart Association, 7272 Greenville Ave., Dallas, Texas 75231.
