John “Jack” Vitullo, 87
McDonald – There will be funeral services Tuesday morning, Dec. 16, 2014 at 9:15 a.m. at the Rossi Brothers & Lellio Funeral Home followed by a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Luke Church in Boardman with Rev. Joseph Fata celebrating the Mass for John “Jack” Vitullo who passed away Friday afternoon, Dec. 12, 2014. Jack was born the son of Anthony and Lucille (Duve) Vitullo. He retired after 34 years as a letter carrier with the Youngstown Post Office. He was a member of St. Luke Church and a 1945 Graduate of South High School. Jack courageously served his country with US Navy during WWII and with the US Army during the Korean Conflict. His wife, Margaret M. (Connelly) Vitullo, whom he married Feb. 4, 1956, passed away June 3, 2001. Jack will always be remembered lovingly by his son, Anthony J. (Frances) Vitullo of McDonald; his daughter, Sandra Ann (Carmen) Acierno of Liberty; seven grandchildren, Courtney (Fiancé Tyler Tully) Vitullo, Anthony Acierno, Rachael Acierno, Jason (Kelly) Acierno, Michael (Erica) Acierno, Jeffrey (Missy) Acierno, and Carmen (Jill) Acierno; nine great grandchidlren; a sister, Josetta Ciambotti; and nephew Jim Ciambotti. He was preceded in death by his parents. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests any monetary donation be made in Jack’s name to the Hospice House, 9803 Sharrot Road, Poland, OH 44514. Friends may call on Monday, Dec. 15, 2014 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Rossi Brothers and Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Avenue in Boardman. Jack will be laid to rest at Lake Park Cemetery where his dedicated service to our country will be recognized with full military honors provided by the great men of V.F.W. Post No. 9571. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the staff and physicians over the years at St. Elizabeth Hospital Youngstown Main Campus and most recently at St. Elizabeth Boardman Campus and the Hospice House for all of their care given to Jack.
