Carmel L. Holecko, 92
North Lima – There will be funeral services at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 26, 2015 at the Rossi Brothers and Lellio Funeral Home in Boardman followed by an 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Christine Church in Youngstown for Carmel L. Holecko, 92, who passed away Monday morning, Feb. 23, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. Carmel was born June 22, 1922 in Youngstown, the daughter of James and Antoinette (Serafino) Ferrara. Carmel was a cross guard for Boardman Schools. She was a member of St. Christine Church. Carmel loved to cook and enjoyed driving, but her greatest joy was being around her family, especially her grandchildren. Her husband John J. Holecko, Sr. whom she married February 16, 1946, passed away February 25, 1978. Carmel will be remembered lovingly by her two daughters, Annette (Charles) Petrarca and Kathy Thomas; son, John J. (Anne) Holecko, Jr., six grandchildren, Nicole (Joe) Varone, Stephanie (Michael) Sosnowski, Megan (Michael) Ambrosia, Joshua (Chelsey) Holecko, Cody Holecko, and Neil (Meaghan) Thomas, five great grandchildren; and brother, Ralph Ferrara. Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by sister, Connie Nespeca. Friends may call from 9 a.m. until time of the service on Thursday, Feb. 26 at the Rossi Brothers and Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Avenue in Boardman.
