Adeline M. Congemi, 84


Pataskala– There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Basilica in Youngstown with the Very Rev. Msgr. Michael J. Cariglio celebrating for Adeline M. Congemi, 84, who passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. Adeline was born September 26, 1930 in Youngstown, the daughter of Peter and Antoinette (Gelsamino) Vallareo. Adeline was a 1947 graduate of Ambridge High School in Ambridge, Pennsylvania and worked as a lunchroom aide at Bennett School for 23 years. In 1998, Adeline moved to the Columbus area to be closer to her daughter and grandchildren. She was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Basilica. She was very passionate about her faith and her church and prayerfully attended St. Anthony Novena. Adeline enjoyed cooking and entertaining with her family and friends. She especially loved spending time with her family and attending her grandchildren’s sporting events. Her husband, Carl “Cap” Congemi Sr. whom she married on September 24, 1960 and was her life, passed away in November of 1997. Adeline will always be remembered lovingly by her daughter, Petrina (John) Moran of Pataskala; son Carl Congemi Jr. (Melanie Cooper) of Youngstown; 7 grandchildren, Dustin V., Cody P., and Tanner D. Congemi, Hunter P. Bradley, Zachary, Natalie, and Noah Moran; and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Carmel Merendo. Calling hours will be held from 8:15 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Basilica on Tuesday, April 28 prior to the Mass. The Rossi Brothers and Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Avenue in Boardman have the honor of handling the arrangements for Adeline.
