Angeline M.  (Domico) Varie

AUSTINTOWN – There will be funeral services at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, June 9, 2015, at the Rossi Brothers & Lellio Funeral Home followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Angela Merici Church with Rev. Kevin Peters celebrating the Mass for Angeline M. (Domico) Varie, 91, who passed away peacefully Friday morning, June 5, with her loving family by her side.
Angeline was born Nov. 14, 1923, in Youngstown, the daughter of Alexander and Catherine (Blanch) Domico.
She worked in the stock room at Kline’s Department Store and was a homemaker.
She was a member of St. Angela Merici (Sacred Heart) Church and a former member of the Immaculate Conception Church and its Altar & Rosary Society and Ladies Guild. She enjoyed her card club, playing 500 at 20th Century Restaurant, traveling to Mountaineer, and bingo. She was best known for her famous wedding soup, artichokes, and cooking all of her specialty recipes. She adored her family and grandchildren and loved them very much.
Her husband, Fred C. Varie, whom she married Sept. 29, 1943, passed away Jan. 14, 2002.
Angeline will be remembered lovingly by her son, Arthur (Patricia) Varie of Poland; three daughters, Shirley Hahn of Austintown, with whom she made her home, and Sandi (Bob) Kanos of Poland, and Debbie (Wesley) Owrey of Poland; nine grandchildren, Allison (John) Congemi, Alicia Hughes, Kristen (Bill) Hankey, Angela Owrey, Amanda (Ryan) Weiss, Robert (Lisa) Owrey, Robert J. Kanos, Deborah Owrey, and Jonathan Kanos; and six great-grandchildren, Lauren Owrey, Lily and Eden Weiss, and Adam, Anthony, and Deann Swauger.
Besides her parents and husband, Angeline was preceded in death by a grandson, William Hankey Jr.; two sisters, Ann Domico and Rose Marie Grumbling; four brothers, James Damico, Anthony, Michael and Louis Domico.
Friends may call on Monday, June 8, 2015, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Rossi Brothers & Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Ave. in Boardman.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to all whom helped Angeline in her care, especially her granddaughters, Kristen and Angela, and all the nurses and aides from Community Care.
