Margaret "Marge" Mary Cannatti Thomas, 90

CORAL SPRINGS, FLA. - There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held today, Saturday, Feb. 13, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Basilica for Margaret (Marge) Mary Cannatti Thomas, 90, who passed away peacefully, under Hospice care, at Park Summit Senior Living in Coral Springs,the morning of Feb. 8, 2016.
Margaret was the daughter of Mary LoNigro Cannatti and Luigi Cannatti and born on Dec. 8, 1925. She was one of 11 children and grew up on the east side of Youngstown.
She was married to Carmen Joseph Thomas on Sept. 14, 1946 and shared a blessed union till his death in August of 1987. In addition to her parents and her husband, Margaret was preceded in death by her brothers, Rocco, James, Dominic, Louis and her twin, Phillip Cannatti; her sisters, Liz Safarec, Nancy Simione and Carmel Leonelli.
She is survived by her youngest sister, Antoinette Zamary of Youngstown. Margaret will be greatly missed by her three children, Richard of Texas, Marlene Thomas Vadjunec of Wisconsin and Charlene Erickson of Florida and her six grandchildren; Tammy Thomas Todack and Richie Thomas of Texas, Nicole Vadjunec Hamilton and Shelby Vadjunec both of Wisconsin, Jessica Erickson Orlandi of California and Justin Erickson of Florida.
She was blessed with eight great-children and many nieces and nephews that she loved and adored.
Her family always brought her great joy. Marge never met a stranger. She was always willing to help and greeted everyone with her warm smile and open heart. She was known for her dancing and her high level of energy and earned the nickname “Chick.” She was a devout Catholic and Blessed Mother was important to her since she was born on the feast of the Immaculate Conception. She began her working career at Commercial Shearing and worked for a number of years at Anchor Cigar Company.
Friends and family may call on Saturday, Feb. 13 from 9 to 9:55 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Basilica located at 242 Via Mt. Carmel in Youngstown.
The Rossi Brothers & Lellio Funeral Home has been bestowed the honor of handling the funeral arrangements for Marge.
