Condolence From: John Chechitelli
Condolence: My deepest condolences to Matt's family. Having grown up across the street from Matt and not even 2 years apart, he quickly became the first best friend I ever had. Those years growing up in College Park were filled with a lot of fun and we shared great memories every day, playing outside or downstairs in Matt's room watching movies and having sleepovers.
Matt faced a lot of adversity in life but showed courage throughout. Even though I moved away after high school, we stayed friends and I was happy to see that he was helping others overcome their own barriers in life. I think my lasting images of Matt will be from the little league pitcher's mound or on a basketball court, in the middle of one of his perfect fade-away jump shots, where he inspired everyone around him by refusing to let a disability dictate his limitations.
