Oreste “Chook” Colantone Jr., 84

POLAND – Private services were held for Oreste “Chook” Colantone, 84, who passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 11, 2016, surrounded by his loving family.
Chook was born Aug. 26, 1931, in Youngstown, the son of Oreste Sr. and Josephine (Iacovetta) Colantone.
He was a 1949 graduate of East High School and then went on to work as a carpenter for Colantone Construction. He later became a manager of the truss shop for Plaza Lumber, retiring in 1996.
He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who always treated everyone as family.
Chook was a member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church, where he was an usher, and also belonged to the Alibi Club of the East Side of Youngstown.
He will always be lovingly remembered by his wife, the former Florence Jorza, whom he married on May 14, 1955, after meeting at Avon Oaks, where they both shared their love of dance; three children, Dan (Lori) Colantone of Akron, Paulette (Jackie) Colantone of Kent, and Cathy (Tom) Sablak of Boardman; three grandchildren, Dane, Zachary, and Luke; and two sisters, Bette Fajack and Marge LoCicero.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Angeline Guerrieri and Phyllis Ernst; and three brothers, Pat, William and Andrew Colantone.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of the Rossi Brothers & Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Ave. in Boardman.
