POLAND – There will be a memorial service at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 5, 2017, at Christ Church Presbyterian, 1933 Canfield Road, for Richard D. Hutchinson, 85, who passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2016, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born June 8, 1931, in Ellwood City, Pa., the son of Roscoe and Margaret (Mortenson) Hutchinson.
Richard was a graduate of Lincoln High School and courageously served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. He served as a combat photographer for the 1st Cavalry, earning three Bronze Service Stars. Later he moved to Youngstown, with his wife and young family eventually in partnership owning Warren Reproductions and Microfilm in Warren.
Richard was an active member of Christ Church Presbyterian, where he taught adult Sunday school for many years.
He was an avid golfer and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
He is now reunited with his wife, the former Barbara Strehler, whom he married April 11, 1953, and who passed away Dec. 9, 2012.
Richard is lovingly remembered and greatly missed by his two daughters, Amy Hutchinson (Ron Snyder) of Poland and Emily (Mike) Campbell of Boardman and six grandchildren, Samuel and Jacob Snyder, Ryan and Ian Campbell, Ron Snyder, and Heather (Snyder) Rapp and her husband, Steve. He is also greatly missed by his brother, James Hutchinson and family in Overton Park, Mo.
Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brother, Leslie (Sonny) Hutchinson; and sister, Loretta Simpson.
The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Chris Knight and the entire staff at the Hope Center of Cancer Care for the kind and compassionate care shown to Richard.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of the Rossi Brothers & Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Ave. in Boardman.
