Mary A. Russo, 93, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 4, 2017, surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 15, 1924, in Youngstown, the daughter of Pete and Mary (Accattato) Bonamase. Mary worked for Woolworth's. McKelvey's, Triangle Raincoat, and Moyer Pants Factory. She was a member of Christ Our Savior Parish at St. Nicholas Church and its Altar and Rosary Society. She was also a member of East Side Civics Auxiliary and the Chat and Chew Card Club. In her spare time, she enjoyed bowling and crocheting. Her husband, Anthony "Tony" Russo whom she married September 6, 1941, passed away October 25, 1998. Mary will always be remembered lovingly by her two children, Marcella (Larry) Fauver of Poland, and Marydonna (Richard) Nelson of Struthers; five grandchildren, Benjamin (Patty) Fauver, Denise (Ray) Hripko, Larry (Debbie) Fauver, Lori (Justin) Paradise, and Rick Nelson; eight great-grandchildren, Auburn (Noah), Chad, Erika, Brad, Kaitlyn, Dylan, Jacob and Alexis; and great-great-grandson, Bennett Myron. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by great-grandson, Zachary; four brothers, George, Albert, Dominic, and Philip Bonamase; and sister, Rose Rovnak. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, September 8, at the Rossi Brothers and Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Avenue in Boardman, and again from 9:45 to 10:15 a.m. on Saturday, September 9 at Christ Our Savior Parish at St. Nicholas Church in Struthers, followed by a 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial.
